The Payroll & Benefits Expert is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of payroll and benefits processes. This role ensures compliance with statutory and internal requirements, administers compensation and benefits programs, and drives cost-effective improvements that support employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Payroll – Oversees accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and benefits, ensures compliance with tax laws and internal policies, and works closely with Finance and HR to resolve payroll issues quickly.
  • Benefits Administration – Manages the daily administration of employee benefits programs, including health, insurance, pension, and leave schemes, while ensuring smooth enrollment, updates, and employee support.
  • Compliance & Reporting – Ensures adherence to all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements, maintains accurate documentation, and prepares mandatory reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Master Data Management – Maintains and updates employee master data in systems such as SAP or ADP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment across all HR and payroll processes.
  • Employee Support & Communication – Serves as the primary contact for payroll and benefits inquiries, provides clear guidance to employees and managers, and ensures transparent communications of policies, changes, and deadlines.

 

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory compliance, including EPF/ETF, PAYE, and Sri Lankan labor regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, formulas, data validation)
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines
  • Diploma or professional certification in HR, Accounting, Finance, or Business Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience with SAP ERP (HCM/Payroll modules) will be a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems and general HR processes will be an added advantage
